Bergamot has a bold, refreshing citrus scent. It is considered a top/middle note and blends well with many other essential oils such as sandalwood, geranium, peppermint, ylang ylang and pine needle. Bergamot is sometimes used in skin care to treat oily skin. It is also thought to have a calming effect and is used to reduce anxiety. Bergamot oil can cause sun sensitivity. Avoid using on skin that will be exposed to sunlight.
