RECIPE TIP: Try this recipe using our Cool Creme DeMenthe flavor instead of the Peppermint.

INGREDIENTS

15 chocolate sandwich cookies (such as Oreos)
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 cup white (vanilla) candy wafers
1 cup milk chocolate candy wafers
8 - 10 drops LorAnn Peppermint Oil, Natural
LorAnn green powder food coloring (optional)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Line an 8" x 8" pan with parchment paper or wax paper, allowing sides to overhang pan.
  2. In a food processor, process cookies until finely crushed. Place crushed cookies in a bowl and stir in the melted butter.
  3. Using your fingertips, or the back of a spoon, press cookie mixture evenly into bottom of pan.
  4. Place candy wafers in separate microwave-safe bowls. Melt at 50% power in 30 second intervals, stirring after each.
  5. Stir 5 drops of Peppermint oil into each of the melted wafers.
  6. To color the white candy melts, place 1 tablespoon of the melted candy into a small bowl. Add 1/16 teaspoon of green powdered food coloring to the candy and mix until completely incorporated. Mix the colored candy into the larger batch and stir well to combine.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the melted candy over the cookie base, alternating colors. Swirl together with a thin knife.
  8. Refrigerate until set. Remove from refrigerator and bring to room temperature. Use parchment or wax paper to lift out candy. Cut into pieces using a sharp knife. (Pieces will break-off into random shapes) Store in an airtight container layering candy between sheets of wax paper. Store container in a cool place, or refrigerate.
