Pure & Natural Peppermint Lip Balm

Pure & Natural Peppermint Lip Balm

Product Code: R0025

Instead of peppermint, feel free to use any of our food-grade essential oils to flavor this all-natural lip balm. The natural oils such as lemon, orange or lime essential oil do work in the balm, but can make your lips more sensitive to the sun and could possibly cause sunburn.

INGREDIENTS

1 tablespoon (1/4 ounce) LorAnn Beeswax Beads
1 tablespoon (1/2 ounce) LorAnn Shea Butter
2 tablespoons (1/2 ounce) LorAnn Sweet Almond Oil
10 - 15 drops LorAnn Peppermint Essential Oil

4 1/8-ounce plastic pots or lip balm tubes

DIRECTIONS

Measure beeswax, sweet almond oil and shea butter into a small glass mixing jar (a clean small condiment jar works well). Fill a small saucepan with 1 inch of water and heat to simmer. Place glass jar in pan and allow plant butters and beeswax to melt. Do not over heat. Remove from pan.

Add Peppermint oil and mix well. Pour into containers and allow to harden undisturbed for 20 minutes.

Variation: Add a few drops of Orange Essential Oil along with the Peppermint for a refreshing citrus-mint flavor.

we followed the recipe and the lip balm and used watermelon flavor. the lip balm was nice, but the red color did not distribute it stayed together...although they all tasted like watermelon they did not have that reddish tint. What could we have done wrong?
