Strawberry Flavor 1 oz.

Product Code: 0320-0500

Strawberry flavoring (also known as candy flavoring oil) is a long time favorite for lollipops and hard tack candy. For a sophisticated taste, try combining strawberry with our sparkling wine flavor.  It's also wonderful with cake batter flavor - think strawberry shortcake.

Appropriate for use in chocolates and coatings, but may cause some thickening. Add liquified coconut oil, or cocoa butter to thin/smooth (typical use is ¼ to ½ teaspoon per pound).

Kosher certified • Gluten-free • Soluble in water

A little goes a long way!  LorAnn’s super strength flavors (also known as candy oils or flavoring oils) are three to four times the strength of typical baking extracts.

Typical uses: hard candy, general candy making, cakes, cookies, frosting, ice cream and a wide variety of other baking and confectionery applications.

Note: When substituting super strength flavors for extracts, use ¼ to ½ teaspoon for 1 teaspoon of extract.

See the About our Flavors page for safe handling tips, FAQs, and more information.

B- use less than recommended

I found out the hard way that instead of using 1/2 tsp. per cup of sugar (in hard candy), use 1/4 tsp. per cup of sugar. If you use the full recommended amount, it is very bitter.

I love the LorAnn flavors but every time I use this flavor Strawberry it come out bitter. It is almost like it has soured like bad milk. So I recommend not using it in icing. So be aware. I hope to find a strawberry flavor that works better.

LorAnn's Response: Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. The Super Strength flavors are very potent. When using them to flavor frosting we recommend using only ¼-1/2 tsp per 3 cups of frosting. Using more flavoring than that can cause the bitter taste you are describing. We are sorry that the Strawberry flavoring did not work out for you. It is one of our most popular flavors. Please keep in mind that we have a strawberry in our natural line (item #3640) and a strawberry emulsion (item #0768). Both products will work well in frosting but are of different strengths, so you may want to visit the “About our Flavors” section to get the recommended usage table. Thanks again for taking the time to give us your feedback.
