For opaque lollipops, add a few drops of white liquid food coloring along with the other color of choice (pink, yellow, blue & purple are typical colors for conversation hearts).

Follow the recipe for making Royal Icing. The consistency should be thick enough to pipe. Fill a piping bag with icing and insert a small round piping tip. Pipe Valentine messages onto lollipops. Allow icing to dry and package in lollipop bags secured with twist ties or tied with decorative ribbon.
