This recipe is inexpensive and smells infinitely better than the commercial variety! To give as a gift, cut into shapes using cookie cutters and package in bags tied with a ribbon.

RECIPE TIP: This play dough smells so good, you'll have to remind the kiddies not to eat it!

INGREDIENTS

2 cups flour
2 cups warm water
LorAnn liquid food coloring of choice
1 teaspoon LorAnn super strength flavoring (for scent)*
1 cup salt
1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon cream of tartar

* Flavors such as grape, strawberry, raspberry, banana, cherry, watermelon and bubble gum are kid pleasers.  Please note:  Do not use cinnamon oil. Our cinnamon oil is highly potent and can be a skin irritant in high concentrations.

DIRECTIONS

1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and stir until combined. 
2. Heat on medium low until mixture is thick and starts to pull away from the sides of the pan. 
3. Remove from heat and allow to cool until dough can be handled. 
4. Scrape dough from pan and knead for a few minutes until smooth and elastic. 
5. Store in a zip-top bag or other airtight container.
