Low-Carb Flavored Syrup for Slushies, Snow Cones, & Shakes

This Keto-friendly, low-carb syrup is a great way to add delicious flavor to frozen treats like snow cones, slushies, and milkshakes. It’s easy to make ahead of time and will keep in the refrigerator for at least 1 week.
When using non-fruity flavors like cake batter or salted caramel, or you plan to add the syrup to milkshakes, skip the Tart & Sour. For commercial slushy machines, please be sure to read the manufacturers manual to determine the recommended sugar:water ratio.

Not all sugar alternatives respond the same as traditional sugar. For our syrup, we used Swerve and the measurements worked perfectly. If you are using a different type of sweetener, you may need to adjust your sweetener/water ratios.
Directions
- Whisk xanthan gum into sugar alternative and add to medium saucepan.
- Add water and set burner to low heat.
- Bring syrup to simmer, stirring occasionally to completely dissolve ingredients.
- Remove from heat and pour into sterilized container.
- Once the syrup is cool, stir in flavor and Tart & Sour.
